INDUNIV advances understanding of the pharmaceutical and bioscience development fields
Founded in 1984, INDUNIV Research Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization [IRC Section 501(c)(3)], members supported organization that promotes and catalyzed effective collaboration among the sectors of academia, industry and government. These efforts are directed towards stimulating knowledge base capabilities, particularly to encourage growth in the life sciences. INDUNIV advances understanding of the pharmaceutical and bioscience development fields; facilitates collaboration between industry, government and academia; develops strategies and road maps to formulate public policy and advocates their implementation. It is a relentless promoter and facilitator for the development of centers of excellence, technology zones and incubators to foster the way in the value chain for the innovation through commercialization of products. In this manner, enhancing Puerto Rico’s competitiveness and making it more attractive for manufacturing activities. INDUNIV represents the Island in the BIO’s Council of State Bioscience Associations, the Council of States Bioscience Institutes and BIO’s Government Relations Committees , among many other forums.

Enhance Puerto Rico status as the preferred location for new business opportunities through knowledge creation in the life sciences, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, health IT/digital health care and allied industries.
Our Mission
To develop the necessary strategies and action plans that promotes the development of the knowledge economy through innovation. To position PR as a global best practices location of choice for the life sciences enterprises through the industry, university and government consortium.

The life sciences entail any initiative focus at improving our quality and standard of life. Therefore, defining the field is challenging due to its diverse technologies existing in our ecosystem which include biotechnology, biomedical and equipment, biopharmaceuticals, research – testing and medical laboratories, agricultural biotechnology and bioscience distribution.

Our Clusters & Committees
Joining an INDUNIV cluster or committee is the best way to contribute as part of the life sciences ecosystem of PR. It also provides value to the membership by shaping the support agenda towards attaining the objectives established for the year and the future goals. Committee participation is open to all employees of INDUNIV member companies. Members may be appointed to be involved in committees for the term assigned. Members participation in committees will allow for bringing up discussions about issues and needs that are important to their companies, look for ways to address them, and take advantage of the network with peers for benchmarking.
